Here are the results of the latest survey which had questions about Softhotels and Wyndham Rewards Bill (Results also attached in pdf format). 
282 of our members responded to the survey which is a typical number of respondents for this type of survey.
 
9 out of 10 members have installed Softhotels at their hotels and 78% of those members are not satisfied with Softhotels.  56% of these members still prefer HSSover any other PMS system. 
 
86% of those responding have experienced a DECLINE in revenue this year.
 
99% of those responding have had their Wyndham Rewards monthly bill INCREASEthis year.
 
The average Wyndham Rewards bill increased by 20% this year while many experienced increases in their bill that were upwards of 40% during a period where revenue had typically declined at most hotels.   
 
During this same period 65% of respondents HAD NOT EXPERIENCED AN INCREASE IN DEMAND OR USAGE of Wyndham Rewards Points at the property level.  Obviously, WHG will state that the program has greater acceptance by the travelling public which results in higher usage of the progam and thus higher fees.  However, the fact that demand and usage at the property level for Wyndham Rewards has not increased and this counters that argument.
 
Almost 85% of respondents do not see any increased value from the Wyndham Rewards program and felt that it has not affected their revenues in a positive manner.
 
55% of those taking the survey still DO NOT UNDERSTAND how PRO ACTIVE MATCHING INCREASES THEIR WYNDHAM REWARDS BILLING. 
 
For those who are unaware of Pro active matching and how it works:
Pro Active Matching is an automatic method that is utilized by franchisors such as WHG to award frequent stay points to their guests.  The guest DOES NOT have to present their membership card during their stay at your hotel or even request that the Guest Service Rep. look up the frequency membership number.  Points are AUTOMATICALLY charged to the franchisee as WHG utilizes address matching or another form of verification to award points to members.
 
What is extremely concerning is that many of the members in Wyndham Rewards were automatically enrolled and are unaware of their membership in the program thus defeating the purpose of a frequency program.  We continue to pay 5% in feees towards these Pro Actively matched stays while WHG still has not disclosed any redemption rates of Wyndham Rewards points.  Now that there are almost 8 Million members in Wyndham Rewards, we believe that points should be assigned only to those guests requesting them and this would allow us to gauge the effectiveness of the program.  Further, it would allow us as operators to ensure that the program works to its fullest abilities which will result in a successful program.  The process currently utilized that auto assigns points has been undertaken in a deceptive manner for several years now with no concrete proof to the effectiveness of the program.

71.69% of the reservations had TR numbers associated with the guests however, 
only 46.6% of these guests were aware of the TR program.

The data provided by the survey indicates the fact that awareness of the Triprewards Program is much lower than is touted by Super 8 and Wyndham.  More significantly, the fact that only 46% of the guests with Triprewards frequent stay memberships were aware of their membership in the program.  Wyndham charged the 5% extra royalty on over 92% of these reservations.  They are accurately charging the motels the 5% fees however less than half of these guests were aware of the program and the points they had accumulated.

Property direct reservations that were made by the individual Super 8 Motel locations should not be included in the reservation contribution from Super 8 Motels, Inc.  These reservations made DIRECTLY AT THE MOTEL do not truly represent revenue created by Super 8 Reservations.  Triprewards membership numbers are auto assigned by an irregular reservation system created by Wyndham.  In many cases the guests are not aware of their membership and the Triprewards guests are not always legitimately created frequent guests due to the auto assignment of a member number.  Triprewards has nothing to do with many of our guests stays and due to the complete illegitimacy of the current Triprewards Membership base, Wyndham is knowingly skewing these values in order to present more positive reservation delivery values.  Further, due to the fact that Triprewards is not brand specific this further distorts the true contribution values.
